Fine wine, to mature correctly, has to be kept at a stable temperature, without excessive peaks and troughs, with balanced humidity between 60 and 80% Rh. and without vibration.

Good air circulation prevents stagnation and 'off' taints with the correct level of humidity aiding the preservation of the cork.
